The Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance is a professional body established under the law of the State of New Mexico, United States of America, to build and implement Leadership and Governance skills in the administration of professional duties. CILG has branches in 25 countries.
CILG Nigeria Chapter has branches in all the 36 States in Nigeria and the head office can be located at Suite B40, First Floor, Danziyal Plaza, Opp. NNPC Mega Station, Central Business District, FCT, Abuja.
As a member of CILG, you will get:

As CILG member, you are expected to follow the membership code of conduct and also participate in all CPD. You are also encourage to take advantage of the international collaborations of CILG to travel abroad for the international conferences on management, leadership and Governance.
Its an award scheme by CILG Nigeria chapter to appreciate members who were able to maintain their integrity at work whiles upholding the code of conduct of CILG. Six members are elected in a year with the overall winner been awarded a honourary doctorate from CIML Business School, U.S.A
You can join CILG as an Associate, Full Member, Fellow, Honourary Fellow and Corporate Member.
Associate:To become an Associate Member, you will meet one of the following experience criteria:
• achieved the CILG Certificate by examination, followed by 5 Years’ experience in a Leadership/ Management role.
• achieved the CILG Diploma by examination, followed by 3 Years’ experience working in a Leadership/ Management role.
• hold a first degree in a relevant subject and 5 Years’ experience working in a Leadership/ Management role.
• hold Chartered Membership of another relevant professional body with 3 Years’ experience working in a Leadership/ Management role.
Full member:To become a Full Member, you will meet one of the following experience criteria:
• achieved the CILG Certificate by examination, followed by 8 Years’ experience working in a Leadership/ Management role.
• achieved the CILG Diploma by examination, followed by 5 Years’ experience working in in a Leadership/ Management role.
• hold a postgraduate degree (MSc/MBA etc.) in a relevant subject on a course acceptable to CILG, followed by 5 Years’ experience in a Leadership/ Management role.
• hold a first degree in a relevant subject and 10 Years’ experience working in a Leadership/ Management role.
• hold Chartered Membership of another relevant professional body with 5 Years’ experience working in a Leadership/ Management role.
Fellow:Highly experienced senior managers can apply for Fellowship of the Institute. This highest level of membership formally recognizes a combination of exceptional senior management experience, Continues Professional Development (CPD), and qualifications. Fellows are also entitled to extra resources. You can acquire this grade if you have: at least Fifteen years’ management experience, including five years as a senior manager and either a management-related qualification at Level 5 or above, or at least 35 days’ CPD within the last seven years.

Note: You will be asked to participate in an interview (this may be held online) and you may be asked to provide a portfolio of supporting evidence.

You are encouraged to register your experience and knowledge into the CILG Register of Expertise (RofE) and have this approved before applying for CILG. This helps your application by providing a detailed overview of your asset management capabilities.
Honorary Fellow of CILG (HonFCILG):Honorary Fellows are likely to be people who have either led the development of thinking and/or practice in the field of Leadership and Governance and/or have made a significant contribution to the development and reputation of the CILG. Honorary Fellows are appointed by the Board on the advice of Council to the purely honorific category of Hon.CILG.
